Details: Rollei’s Rock Solid tripod family represents sophisticated technology, rugged materials and professional functionality. The Rock Solid Gamma 180 introduces the 2016 series with a host of well-designed and practical features, the most important of which is the rotating, pivot able Y-shaped centre column. By increasing the freedom of movement for the central column, this structural innovation - which also reduces stowage space by a fabulous 30% - works to enlarge the range of angles that can be covered by the mounted camera without needing to reposition and reconfigure the entire tripod. No surprise, then, that the huge pivotal range of 180 Degree was also included in the title. Thanks to the centre column’s pivoting skills, the minimum height can be cut to an amazing 2.5 cm, making the tripod ideal for macro work and near-ground wide-angle shots. A short centre column is also included in the Rock Solid Gamma 180 package contents. The overall design focuses on durability and load-carrying capacity, aiming to meet the stringent demands of pro travel and nature photographers in particular. It copes with various surfaces thanks to the steel spikes included in the package contents, while the “boom” attachment can use counterweights on the side hook to ensure and further improve stability.
